Scholarships

Since its founding in 1881, AAUW’s mission has been to provide equity for women through education. The Lewis County Branch encourages education by giving scholarships to women, through a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization Women Supporting Women Scholarships.  Currently the branch provides scholarships for women attending college and for middle-school and high-school girls for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) programs.

In 2024 we supported:

  • the annual STEM summer camp at W.F. West High School in Chehalis;
  • Washington State AAUW’s Tech Trek STEM summer camp;
  • Expanding Your Horizons, a half-day STEM workshop for middle school girls at Centralia College;
  • and provided seven $1500 scholarship to women attending college.
